Here are my nominations and winner of the game of the year award, tomyg addition.
Nominees
the orange box- a complete package would have been team fortress 2 alone but throw in portal and youve got one hell of a deal. Finally throw in all of the half life 2 saga to date and you have the best value for your money of 2007. tf2 is one of the best online multyplayer games in a long time an portal is one of the best puzzel games ive ever played.
Super mario galaxy- when i picked up galaxy i had low expectations due to my dislike of mario games as a whole but, after seeing good reviews on the internet, i decided to pick it up. i was very pleasenlty suprised but replay value is the one area this game is laking. but when you have a forty hou game, replay value isnt a huge concerne. This game is the best platformer ever and the best nintendo game of all time.
Cod4: modern warfare- This game kicks ass. a small but very well done campaign and amazing online multyplayer rivaled only by halo 3 and tf2 makes this one hell of a package. This is without a doubt the most polished shooter of 2007.
Halo 3- the game xbox 360 fans have waited for since the consoles release was not only the best shooter of 2007 but quite possibley the best online multyplayer game as well, rivaled only by cod4 and tf2. with forge and endless picture taking, movie making, stage building, and character creating, this is one hell of a game.
With all these great contenders i have to post a list of what made the winner the winner and the losers the losers.
Galaxy- galaxy was the first to be taken off due to lack of multyplayer and replay value but it is by no means anything but exeptional.
Cod4 modern warfare- cod4 was next to be taken off due to a short campaign and lack of custimizable features.
Tf2 v.s. halo 3- this was a hard one but the winner is HALO 3.
What eventually slipped it into halos favor is the huge customizable features and amazing online multiplayer that tf2 just couldnt match. The campaign wasnt as good as the half life 2 saga but online is where halo 3 shone through and the most importan factor in my mind.
